Marriage

Marriage bonds the bride and bridegroom in spiritual ties of love and liberty, equality and integrity. They become one soul living in two bodies. This is reflected in the following verse traditionally recited by the bridegroom whilst addressing the bride.
Marriage is a sacred duty incumbent upon every normal, healthy person." Marriage is a sacrifice and one who does not enter the married life is an incomplete person. According to the Hindu view, marriage is based on noble sentiments of love, self-sacrifice and self-denial that help to uplift the human race. The primary function of marriage is to fulfill one's obligations towards society and provide continuity of the human race by giving birth to children.
